Creating a place to play, a place to create, before a course goes live on Canvas is relatively easy. Some schools allow this and encourage their faculty to develop possible courses on the Canvas LMS platform prior to going “live.”

The idea is “development” - a place to test out Canvas tools. When you’re at a point to say to the powers to be, “Hey, I’d like to teach the following,” you already have a somewhat developed game plan that makes it hard for administrators, deans, DE committees to say no.
